Workday ERP Destruction The Myth of the Talent Shortage: How Data Brokers and HCMs Are Engineering a Workforce Crisis
Lightcast’s Workforce Risk Outlook warns that the entire Fortune 1000 is at risk due to talent shortages. But is it really a shortage—or an artificially created crisis?
While companies scramble to find talent, data brokers and Human Capital Management (HCM) systems are colluding to profile candidates, effectively rendering a vast portion of the workforce “unemployable.” This isn’t about skill gaps; it's about algorithmic gatekeeping.
Here’s the reality:
🔹 AI-driven hiring systems silently blacklist candidates—often without transparency or due process.
🔹 SEC 10-Q filings admit these technologies are experimental, with risks to human dignity, economic stability, and workforce equity.
🔹 Despite these risks, HCMs are expanding, embedding systemic bias into hiring pipelines at a global scale.
The question isn’t whether there’s a talent shortage. The question is: Who is being deliberately excluded from the workforce?
It’s time to challenge the narrative. Talent is abundant. The barriers to employment are artificial.
